Lavender Fields

Acrylics, Size 38 x 28 cms
If I weren't so miserly, I would throw all the gone-bad watercolour paper away instead of persevering and using it for the acrylics. PmP photo by Franklin was used as an inspiration

Tulips

Acrylics, Arches 200 gr --- WC paper turned blotting paper Size 38 x 28 cms
Have a laugh, this is my attempt at semi-abstract & at using acrylics. These are meant to be be tulips .  Well I found a great use for my Watercolour paper which lost its sizing. There is no problem using it with acrylics.
I drew the design in roughly...but that all disappeared when I started applying the acrylics with a big brush and a smaller one later one to get some shapes in - so I simply improvised
In spite of this being more like a Kindergarten finger painting, I strangely enjoyed just clacking paint onto the paper, it was somehow liberating.

Ayers Rock (Uluru), Central Australia

Acrylics, Size 38 x 28 cms
Well I was determined to paint the famous landmark of Australia and also use my  watercolour paper which lost the sizing and thus rendered unusable for WC.  This is my 3rd attempt at acrylics and possibly last...I simply cannot get used to their opacity & loosing that translucence magic of WC. As I like strong tones, there is nothing in between, either straight out of tube, adding water makes them wishy washy.

Port Somewhere

Acrylics, Size 38 x 28 cms WC Arches Paper
This is my 2nd attempt at semi-abstract.
Inspiration was Vlaminck...
I know it is "kindergarten" like...but I don't care, once again I really had fun, using a large flat brush, Jo-Sonja paints (left-overs from 15 years ago and another era), mostly paints just out of the tube...oh boy one uses lots of white with acrylics..anyway a great experience and a relaxing time for an Easter Monday...

Slaters Bridge, Little Langdale, England

Watercolour, Size 38 x 28 cms
This is a picture from Sharon Whittley I really loved and was itching to paint, yet had considerable difficulties with.
One from the batch of “watercolour paper” which has lost its sizing and inspite of treatment  with MethyloCellulose and Methylat.  Spirit it still acted like a blotting paper.
