Watercolour, Size 38 x 28 cms
One of those beautiful old burnt-out stumps of a gum tree, yet still standing upright with a few greyish leaves there and then. It is amazing how resilient the gum trees are.
I often walk to Crosslands, not far from my home and take photos ... I wanted to paint this tree for ages.

Outback Shack_ Australia
Watercolour, Size 28 x 38 cms.
This is my 3rd version of the same scene. It beats me how each one can end up different.... alas I am a complete failure in cloning. (The original went to my nephew in Munich, the 2nd one to my cousin in USA and the 3rd one? Maybe mine to keep.)

Herman Pekel Workshop
All these paintings were completed at a workshop with Herman Pekel. What a wonderful artist and tutor Herman is. I have learned a great deal. Oils are generally not my medium, but I have highly enjoyed the experience.

Fiddler with a Puppet Show Staromestsky Namesti Prague
Staromestsky Namesti, Prague Watercolour 28 x 38 cms
I wanted to paint this photo for a while. It was a labour of love which taken many hours and turned out to be quite a scurrilous painting, with compositional and perspective downfalls.

One less in the “hard basket” though.
The Statue in the middle of the square is of a religious reformer Jan Hus, who for his
beliefs, was burned at the stake in Constance. Staromestsky Namesti is known
for the famous Prague Astronomical Clock, the Gothic Tyn Church and a baroque
St. Nicholas Church.
